PUBLIC TALK Courageous Compassion - Finding Peace in Turbulent Times
Friday, February 8, 8pm - 9:30pm
It is clear that our world is becoming more dangerous and uncertain. As a result, our day-to-day life is often filled
with anxiety, and it is a struggle to find any peace of mind. There’s a great temptation to hide from the problems and
pain we encounter, but this only increases our feelings of isolation and unhappiness. Through following Buddha’s wisdom advice,
however, we can learn to tap into a great source of inner strength and courage. The peaceful and powerful mind of compassion will
protect us from daily problems and help us to discover profound spiritual solutions to the turbulent times in which we live.
BLESSING EMPOWERMENT The Greatest Kindness - Gifts of Compassion, Wisdom & Spiritual Power
Saturday, February 9, 9am - 6:30pm and Sunday, 9 - 10am
During the Celebration, Gen-la Dekyong will grant the blessing empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa and
give commentary on the practice of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka.
Je Tsongkhapa is the supreme Spiritual Guide – he is at once an embodiment of the compassion, wisdom
and spiritual power of all the Buddhas. If we rely upon him with strong faith, he will bestow these same
extraordinary qualities upon us. These spiritual gifts will directly protect us from all fear and problems,
fulfill our deepest wish for lasting happiness, and give us the ability to help all living beings in the same
way. Where is there kindness greater than this?
TEACHING with PRAYERS FOR WORLD PEACE The Wisdom Way - Using Thought to Create Peace & Happiness
Sunday, February 10, 11am - 1pm
Buddha said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the
world.” Through hearing Buddha’s wisdom teachings, we can come to understand the profound relationship between
our thoughts and the world we experience. Through integrating this wisdom into our daily lives, we can develop
the ability to maintain a balanced mind and a joyful heart in whatever situation we encounter. In this way we create
continuous happiness for ourselves and others - and a peaceful world for everyone to enjoy.
